Job Title: Neurodiversity Support Intern
Reports To: Director of Religious Exploration and Co-Minister
Summary:
The Neurodiversity Support Intern is responsible to provide primary organizational, administrative and occasional educational support to the Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Religious Exploration program. The Neurodiversity Specialist Intern will report to the Director of Religious Exploration as needed concerning administrative and program issues.
The primary purpose of this position is to support neurodiverse learners and teachers of the Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Religious Education Program with appropriate classroom interventions. This position will also support the designing and facilitating of trainings/workshops for Fellowship and volunteer teaching staff.

Essential Job Duties:
- Be available to staff the RE/ FUUn and Friends classrooms on Sunday mornings.
- Act as a floater between 4K-1, 2-5, and 6-8 classrooms on Sunday mornings.
- Provide classroom support as needed, and model appropriate student interventions for teachers.
- Support the design and implementation, including suggestions for adaptations or modifications, of educational activities, materials, programs, services and workshops to help meet the needs of neurodiverse students.
- Consult with Director of Religious Exploration, Co-Minister, and volunteer teaching staff to maximize student success and classroom supports for neurodiverse students.
- Observe individual students and provide written notes of observations as needed.
- Assist Director of Religious Exploration and Co-Minister in designing plans of support for individual students as needed.
- Accompany Director of Religious Exploration and Co-Minister in (phone, Zoom, in-person, etc.) meetings with parents/caretakers towards supporting individual students.
- Meet with the Director of Religious Exploration and Co-Minister during mutually agreed-ipon times to provide and receive pertinent updates.
- Other responsibilities or duties as needed and/or assigned.
Expectations:
- The Neurodiversity Support Intern is expected to follow all policies and guidelines as set by the Fellowship’s Executive Team and the Governing Board.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Effective communication is essential to a healthy work environment. Any complaint or grievance should be discussed immediately with the person involved, and then communicated to the DRE.
- Inform supervisors (Director of Religious Exploration and Co-Minister) of illness or lateness as soon as possible prior to the start of your workday.

- An outgoing personality and engaging manner in work-related encounters with children, youth and adults.
- Flexibility and patience with unpredictable circumstances.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Fellowship and volunteer teaching staff.
- Ability to take initiative, be creative and work self-sufficiently.
- Willingness and ability to support a Unitarian Universalist / liberal religious program, including outwardly supporting our stated values and inclusion of people with a range of theologies, backgrounds, genders, sexual identities, etc. (Training available if needed)
