This paid internship for a recent college graduate or college student videographer/photographer. The position is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Watsonville, CA working with the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. MarCom is responsible for all internal and external communications and marketing activities, that includes our social media, corporate website, intranet, and other digital channels. The intern will capture compelling video and images of our people and construction projects in progress or after completion. Must be comfortable traveling to local active job sites as well as working in a corporate office environment. Capture candid as well as posed images and video of Granite and client team members. Conceive, edit, add graphics, and perform all the post-production work necessary to produce high-quality and engaging short videos for social media and recruiting that highlight our teams and our projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Creating stories using video, photo, and text animation elements that accurately inform, entertain, and engage our audience through the selection and implementation of visual effects, audio, and music.
- Experience in shooting, editing, and producing high-quality videos and photos is a must.
- Solid experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 and After Effects. Knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI tools and techniques for video, audio, and photo editing
- Must enjoy working collaboratively and accurately; attention to detail is critical.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, as well as with other stakeholders.
- Take safety training, apply safe work practices, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Willing to travel locally to active job sites in a personal vehicle.
- Uploading images and adding accompanying metadata into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
- Motion Graphics knowledge and proficiency creating branded titles is a plus
- MS365; Web proficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Currently majoring in film, photography, marketing and communications, or journalism (or a related field) at an accredited 4-year college or university – or a recent graduate in same.
- Proficiency in multi-media formats, including video, digital platforms, and print
- Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills
- Ability to set priorities, organize work and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges with consistent follow through
- Ability to work well with a variety of people in corporate and field environments
- Ability to work in creative and structured, process-driven environments
- Drone experience and pilot’s license is a plus

Base Hourly Wage Range :
Hourly: $23.00 $25.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
