
Program Intern - Her Next Play (Lawrence-Funded Internship)
Her Next Play is a non-profit focused on leadership and career development for girls and women athletes. Our mission is to develop the next generation of women leaders through sports. Her Next Play programs inspire girls to stay in sports, help girls develop as leaders through sports, and help athletes to launch and accelerate their careers. The Her Next Play Program Intern will work closely with the Her Next Play Leadership team and Executive Board to develop, implement, and promote leadership and career development programs for girl and women athletes. The internship will include both remote and in-person components in Minneapolis and the surrounding metro area.
Her Next Play Program Intern Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director to plan and lead sports workshops.
- Work closely with the marketing team to organize and execute social media posts.
- Facilitate and evaluate Play Bold & Beyond Bold Programs.
- Contribute to developing leadership opportunities for middle school athletes in partnership with the Her Next Play JV Board.
- Work closely to organize event management and administration including creating registrations, participation communication and marketing follow-up.
- Support Rookie Career Accelerator II program
- Research potential grants, foundation funding opportunities, and support fundraising opportunities as needed.
- Additional responsibilities as interests and needs require.
Preferred Skills & Experience
● Interested in sports, leadership development, and equity for girls and women
● Self-driven, accountable, and comfortable working independently and as part of a virtual team
● Strong communication skills
● Ability to connect well with middle school girls
● Values diversity and creates a culture of inclusion
● Quick learner willing to tackle new projects and develop and pilot programs
● Technically savvy with experience in Canva (or willingness to learn)
● Prefer candidate who can identify with the experience of girls and women athletes.
Internship Structure Details
● Expected 10-15 hours of remote and in-person work per week.
● Virtual team with expectation of work from home.
● Weekly team meetings
● Flexibility to shift responsibilities based on areas of interest and skill set
● Support for overall career development by Her Next Play leadership team (we’ll help connect you for informational interviews, strengthen your resume, and build your LinkedIn profile, etc.)

Compensation:
