2024 Statewide Election Coordinator

ABOUT LEADERS IGNITING TRANSFORMATION:

Leaders Igniting Transformation (LIT) is a youth of color led independent nonprofit. Founded in 2017, LIT engages in values-based issue and electoral organizing, direct action, advocacy for public policy, and leadership development. On campuses and communities in Milwaukee’s key geographies, we organize young people to build independent political power for social, racial and economic justice.

About the Role

Leaders Igniting Transformation is seeking dynamic, inspiring Full-Time Statewide Election Coordinator to lead our voter engagement, education and registration efforts across several University of Wisconsin campuses.

 

Note: This is a seasonal position through December 31, 2024


 

Core Responsibilities

 

Manage Electoral Fellowship 60%

  • Lead and supervise three (spring, summer, and fall) cohorts of Election Fellows across the state of Wisconsin.
  • Conduct weekly check ins with Election Fellows to coach them, develop campus specific plans, troubleshoot, and ensure accountability
  • In collaboration with the College Organizing Manager and Program Coordinator, lead the hiring process for Election Fellows across our 10 college chapters (spring, summer & fall cohort)
  • Develop and execute our non-partisan and partisan civic engagement programs which include campus voter registration and outreach activities, text & call campaigns

 

Cross Collaboration 25%

  • In collaboration with the College Organizing Manager and Program Coordinator, lead the hiring process for Election Fellows across our 10 college chapters
  • In collaboration with the Senior Civic Engagement Manager, develop weekly trainings focused on voter education, voter engagement, best practice and tools.
  • Collaborate with other student organizations on campus


 

Admin 15%

  • In collaboration with the College Organizing Manager work to implement weekly metric tracking tools to support the Election Fellows to submit weekly data
  • Ensure the team has the necessary materials, inventory, equipment
  • Approve part time employee timesheets in a timely manner


 

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous positive experience working with college-aged students
  • Basic understanding of IRS 501(c)(3) & 501(c)(c4) rules and regulations
  • Experience working with Google products (Gmail, Sheets, Doc, Admin Suite), REACH and Asana
  • Goal orientation and strategic mindset, with the ability to adapt and collaborate to meet desired outcomes and metrics with thoughtful, proactive, and intentional communication
  • Proactive problem-solving, including the ability to think ahead, troubleshoot potential problems, seek solutions, and help the team meet their goals, with thoughtful communication about issues as they arise. Strong applicants will have significant prioritization skills and an adaptable work style.


 

Logistics

  • Employment Classify:  Full-Time Seasonal, Exempt Employees (Ends December 31, 2024)
  • Reports to: Jaszy Segarra, College Organizing Manager
  • Compensation: $50,000 annually
