Support Specialist

 

American National is seeking an agile, collaborative and engaged Support Specialist to play a pivotal role in the success of our P&C Claims Recovery Unit.  Requiring limited supervision, you will ensure subrogation demands are compiled and transmitted, then ultimately apply recovered funds appropriately.  Please note this is an in-office position in Springfield, MO.

 

What Will You Do?

 

You will perform integral duties that directly impact the successful claims subrogation and recovery efforts for the Company’s property and casualty lines of business, including:
•    efficiently and accurately compiling and transmitting subrogation demands to other carriers,
•    receiving recovery payments from various sources and allocating payments to the appropriate claims,
•    researching questionable recoveries, which may include working with other business areas to appropriately identify how funds should be applied,
•    collaborating with Subrogation Representatives and leadership on continued development of efficient workflows and process improvements, 
•    processing the Subrogation Department’s incoming mail,
•    ensuring the Subrogation Department’s supplies are maintained and ordered as necessary, and
•    performing other related duties and responsibilities as requested by leadership.

 

Required Skills

 

•    One year work experience in a customer-oriented business setting, managing multiple tasks, adhering to deadlines, utilizing available resources, and accomplishing goals
•    Positive disposition with the ability to work successfully in a team environment and problem solve
•    High attention to detail and follow-up with effective oral and written communication
•    Passion to provide the highest quality service to internal customers and take ownership of job performance
•    Aptitude to navigate various computer programs simultaneously (i.e., Microsoft Office applications and internal claims system)
•    Technical skills, including typing, data entry, and experience with Microsoft Excel
•    Ability to learn and retain information quickly
•    Desire to gain or expand upon current insurance knowledge

 

Preferred Skills


•    Associate Degree or some college
•    Knowledge of property and casualty insurance
