Urban Planner - Palace Acquire (PAQ) Program - Air Force Civilian Service (non-Military)
Full-time paid two-year developmental position - Palace Acquire (PAQ) program for those with or approaching a degree in Urban Planning/Urban Studies.
Civilian Air Force Community Planners are responsible for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the Air Force’s largest weapon system —its installations.
This is NOT a military position. Civilian Community Planners are critical members of our team, providing the diverse expertise and leadership needed to secure our nation’s defense.
The Air Force is providing opportunities for full-time employment for recent and upcoming graduates. The PAQ program assigns you to an Air Force Installation and provides two years of formal and on-the-job training to expose you to all aspects of an Air Force career as a Community Planner. You will work shoulder to shoulder with current Community Planners and other professionals including military and civilians. You will make a real contribution to the mission of the United States Air Force (USAF) and gain invaluable real-world experience.
The program starts Urban Planner Interns with a Bachelor’s Degree at $46,696 - $57,778 depending on location. After two years working with the Air Force, you can expect to be earning $69,107 to $85,508 depending on location. Urban Planner Interns with a Master’s degree start at $57,118 - $70,674 and after completing the program can expect to earn $82,830 - $102,489 depending on location. From there, further advancement is very likely if you are eager, willing to learn, and a hard worker.

Upon successful completion of the PAQ program, you will be outplaced as a mid-level Architect in the Air Force Civilian Workforce.
Requirements:
- US Citizenship
- Current student graduating no later than Aug 2023 or recent graduate (within last two years)
- Minimum GPA of 2.95 on a 4.0 grading scale
- City or Urban Planning Degree or similar.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (Air Force will fund the clearance after offer is made)
