STUDENT TRAINEE (ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION) - OECA

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected). Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.

Enrolled students or individuals who have been accepted for enrollment seeking a diploma, certificate, bachelor’s degree, graduate degree, or professional degree from a qualifying educational institution on a full- or half-time basis, including awardees of the Harry S. Truman Foundation Scholarship Program.

Duties

You will: 
  • Analyze and summarize a variety of environmental program data for use in preparing reports and program evaluations;
  • Compile and evaluate available background information, data from previous studies, and gather new and additional data from a variety of sources;
  • Perform administrative studies of a standard nature on regulatory and compliance issues and problems, including analyzing data, making queries of automated systems, developing reports;
  • Prepare initial recommendations for solutions to be reviewed by higher graded staff. Supports higher-graded staff in planning for program management of environmental programs;
  • Assist staff in preparation of materials for, and participation in, briefings with managers. Review literature for assessment and information gathering.
