Electrical Engineer COOP

Job Summary:
The co-op will be focused on facilitating the Engineering team in the design, development, and validation of existing and new products. The co-op will be exposed to a broad range of components and manufacturing processes including injection molded plastic, sheet metal, machining, rubber molding, IC engines, power transmission, AC/DC motors, circuit boards, and sensors.
Job Duties:
·        Understand product electrical requirements and develop solutions to problems
·        Use theoretical calculations and analytical methods to develop and support electrical concepts
·        Review or create part drawings, CAD models and bills of material for electrical systems including, but not limited to, sensors, motors, and circuit boards
·        Create and modify schematics to document new and existing designs
·        Simulate electrical design concepts using SPICE based circuit simulator.
·        Prototype and bench test designs
·        Create test reports based on bench and field-testing results
·        Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
 
Qualifications and Skills:
·        Must be accepted in an engineering department and not be on academic probation
·        Mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands on skills
·        Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and circuit board simulation and design software
·        Basic familiarity with various electronic components and how they are used in electronic circuits.
·        Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized individual
·        Good written and verbal communication skills
·        Ability to excel in highly interactive team environment
·        A high level of initiative and self-confidence
·        Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical products
 
Duration of Employment: Full Time/Temporary
Work Days: Monday – Friday
