Dermatology Medical Assistant - Immeidate Opening

The Dermatology Center at Ladera is a busy dermatology office in Ladera Ranch with four Dermatologists. We provide medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in a positive team environment where excellent patient care, service, and teamwork take top priority.

We have recently grown into an expanded space and added a dermatologist. We are starting to see patients in our new suite and have just opened an additional Front Office Medical Assistant position. The start date for this position is mid to late October.

All our positions are Full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Our pay range is wide and starts from $18 and up, depending on skills and experience.

For our front office, we seek out those with top-notch customer service and impeccable communication ability to tackle busy multi-line phones and demanding patients with poise and grace. We will consider applicants with significant customer service experience in non-medical settings who are willing to learn quickly from our experienced team about the details of making dermatologic appointments, triaging patients’ dermatologic concerns, handing pre- and post-operative patient communications, appropriately dealing with calls from pharmacies/referring and consulting physicans/labs/etc, explaining to patients the nuances of PPO insurance networks and benefits, handling prescription and prior-authorization follow-ups, medical records and confidentiality, and other medical related service topics.

Our Back Office Clinical Medical Assistants will join a highly skilled and friendly team of clinical assistants to help our dermatologists with surgery, procedures, charting, pre and post-operative care, scribing, and other general clinical duties. Applicants must have strong computer skills, along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as being a fast-working EMR scribe is also a big part of the job responsibility.

Dermatology or related specialty experience is a definite plus, but we will consider training the right person if you are ready to work hard to learn all about dermatology.

Our ideal new team members are long term hires. But these positions are also an excellent opportunity for graduates or students who need to build experience as part of the application process for medical school, physician assistant, nursing programs, and the like. Working this position is very educational and hands on due to the nature of the duties. Our back office medical assistants stay with their patient through the rooming, diagnosis, treatment, and post-visit instruction phases which provides a rich learning environment. As our providers are all Board Certified Dermatologists and we do not have any mid-level providers, our Medical Assistants are more hands-on than in the typical Dermatology office.

All our team members have excellent grooming and appearance, are friendly, courteous, patient and tactful with patients and patient families. We value that special ability to communicate effectively and relate well with patients, physicians, office staff, and vendors.

Good pay rates and benefit package, including 3 weeks paid time off, paid holidays, Blue Shield medical insurance, and 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions. Our office is independent, doctor owned, and has a long-term highly trained staff.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to meeting you.
