The role:
 
Bring your supervisory experience and come join our DMV Vehicle Services management team! In this role, you will oversee a team of employees as they produce a high volume of work. You will work closely with other managers as well as unit staff and track workload, identify trends, recommend strategies and adjust priorities to meet demands. Apply now!

A day in the life:
 
  • Direct, assign, coordinate and supervise the work of the unit.
  • Recruit, interview and hire new staff.
  • Monitor production, develop workload projection and staffing plans to ensure efficiency and accurately document unit operations.
  • Demonstrate change leadership and oversee unit morale and culture.
  • Finalize accurate timekeeping records and approve overtime, compensatory time, leave requests and timesheets.
  • Investigate and respond to employee grievances.
  • Recommend and implement corrective work plans, coach employees, document behavior issues and administer disciplinary action.
  • Participate or chair various work groups and communicate pertinent information to the unit and peers.
  • Conduct new hire training and ongoing trainings as changes occur.
  • Work is performed in a typical office environment and may include occasional standing, walking, crouching, bending and lifting up to 30 lbs.

What we need:
Three years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
 
OR
 
A bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience working in a stressful, fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience developing and coaching employees.
  • Experience supervising and coordinating the work of a production team.
  • Experience analyzing data, setting goals, writing technical reports and recommendations.
  • Experience supporting employees in the delivery of good customer service by interpreting and applying laws, rules and regulations.
