Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Public Transportation Division (PTD) is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist 4 that will support the PTD in advancing public transportation and transportation demand management with partners for a safer, more equitable Washington. The PTD develops and delivers distinctive programs, high-quality services, and innovative approaches that support an integrated, multimodal, and sustainable transportation system exceeding customers' and partners' expectations. The Transportation Planning Specialist 4 supports these objectives/missions by playing a lead role in development and delivery of capital projects including fleet electrification, conversions to alternative fuel types, procurement, prioritization of projects, compliance, inclusion, asset management, and policy development. The position is responsible for ensuring continuity of services, safe and timely replacement of vehicles, procurement of alternative fuel vehicles, compliance with state and federal requirements, and achievement of the agency and state strategic goals of inclusion, practical solutions, multimodal integration, and environmental sustainability. The position must work closely with WSDOT's regions/modes, and public transportation providers across the state.
