Edison Elementary Math/Literacy Partner (Federal Work Study)

About the Position
Lawrence students will be partnered with Edison Elementary students to foster skills, confidence, and interest in math or literacy. You will meet one-on-one or in small groups with students. Typical meeting times vary depending on the student schedules and needs. You will also be paid for 15 minutes of preparation time for every hour worked.

You will work with students in grades 1-6. You must have a basic understanding of math and/or reading concepts and how they are taught. Typical topics in math will be fractions, multiplication, division, word problems, measurement, and geometry. Typical literacy activities would include reading together with a student, listening to a student read, checking comprehension through discussion, and editing, writing, and mapping skills. This will be done with minimal supervision from a teacher at Edison.

Students will have the option to work during the whole 2022-23 school year.

Applicants must be able to pass a background check by Appleton Area School District.
