Community Service Officer (CSO)
The Appleton Police Department is currently seeking applicants for the position of Community Service Officer. This is a part-time, uniformed non-sworn police position. Work involves directing traffic, crowd control, animal control, bicycle enforcement, private property accident investigations, graffiti abatement investigations, abandoned vehicle investigations, habitual parking vehicle towing, issuing warning notices/citations for ordinance violations, park patrol and special events. Regular punctual and predictable attendance is required. This is an excellent training opportunity for students seriously considering a future in law enforcement.
Qualifications
Candidates are required to be at least eighteen years of age and possess a valid driver's license with no recent moving violations. Eligibility requirements include either having obtained a minimum of 60 college credits (to be earned by the time the application is submitted) or must be a student who is actively enrolled in a post high school institution and have no felony convictions. Additionally, candidates will be required to complete our screening process, which includes a physical fitness test.
Salary
The starting wage for this position is $14.75/hour.
