Position Summary:   
This position provides statewide leadership, supervision, coordination, and consultation related to the improvement of elementary and secondary technology and engineering education and contemporary CTE programs. This includes program and professional development and improvement activities with (1) teachers, administrators, and others from local education agencies, cooperative educational service agencies, Wisconsin Technical College districts, and universities; (2) related state, regional, and national CTE organizations; (3) the business community and other workforce and economic organizations; and (4) the SkillsUSA CTSO.
The responsibilities of this position will include: the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and student assessment; in-service and pre-service professional development for educators; DPI liaison with related state agencies and associations; program improvement; provision of direct consultation to local school districts and teacher training institutions; and monitoring of CTE programs, civil rights compliance, and implementation of both state and federal laws/regulations affecting CTE and education for employment. The consultant will contribute to the mission, strategic plan, specific projects, accountability, and the success of the CTE Team, the division, and the Department.

Qualifications:

A minimally qualified applicant must have experience:
•Providing leadership on the implementation of education standards, curriculum, instruction, assessment, program evaluation, or career pathways (i.e., serving as a department chair, leading a group through a curriculum revision process, participating on a statewide committee/council, etc.);
•Serving as a facilitator, presenter, or resource person in a meeting, workshop, or conference; and
•Developing relationships/partnerships with business/industry representatives, community-based organizations, or business-related associations/organizations.
Well-qualified applicants will also have experience:
Performing a leadership/mentorship/coordination role with a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) and/or SkillsUSA; and/or
Performing a leadership/mentorship/coordination role with a work-based learning program (i.e., a program that supports career awareness/development/preparation); and/or
Providing leadership on the implementation of the following in a technology or engineering related area, addressing multiple areas such as: education standards, curriculum, instruction, assessment, program evaluation, or career pathways; and/or
Providing leadership or technical assistance in the development or implementation of dual enrollment programs.
