UW-Green Bay Video Student Job or Internship (Paid Position)

Video Student Position or Internship: The Office of Marketing and University Communication offers a paid video student employment opportunity. The video student employee or intern can expect a wide variety of video capture assignments for the university’s social media channels and website. Assignments range from event coverage to student life, academics and social media videos. Professionalism is expected when capturing events and filming in classrooms.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Applicants must have skills in filming or have completed a university-level video course. 
  • Editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, and Lightroom (desired but not mandatory). 
  • Completion of a photo/video-related course, such as ART 243 Intro to Photography, ART 343 Photography II, ART 344 Photography III, COMM 301 How to Create Great Social Media Content, COMM 302 News Reporting and Writing, COMM 307 Video Production, COMM 378 Advanced Video Production, DESIGN 433 Advanced Studio, etc.. 
  • All applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits and must have at least one semester remaining to apply. 

Job Location:  Cofrin Library 820, UW-Green Bay, Green Bay campus.  

Student Status: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior  

Majors/Minors:  Art, Communication, Marketing, Design Arts, Film and Cinema Studies, or other.

Scope of Responsibilities:  
The video student employee or intern is responsible for filming video clips of events, academics and campus life. Expected to complete tasks assigned by the University Videographer/Photographer and must be able to work independently in a wide range of environments. Occasional evening or weekend work. 

·       Produce visuals for UW-Green Bay’s brand personalities.  
·       Capture video clips of academics, student life, campus scenes and events.  
·       Operate DSLR digital camera with an assortment of lenses for video capture.  
·       Use a computer to select and title video clips for the video library. 
·       Use SharePoint to upload video clips to the video library. 
·       Possibly capture photos along with video clips during an assignment.  
·       Possibly use Lightroom/Bridge to edit, add metadata to photos and upload to PhotoShelter. 
·       Optional equipment (gimbal, Go-Pro, recorder, mics, drone, tripod and studio lights).  
·       Optional use of Adobe software for video editing (Premiere Pro or Premiere Rush).  
 
Compensation: 
The video student employee's salary range of $10-12 per hour for a ten-hour work week. The video intern's salary range of $10-12 per hour for a ten-hour work week and receives three credits for one semester of work. Internship opportunities such as COMM 497, DESIGN 497, HUM STUD 497, MKTG 497, and THEATRE 497 Internships.
