Position Summary:
The Office of International Student Services at the University at Buffalo invites applications for the position of International Student Coordinator.

As International Student Coordinator, you will represent the university as a Designated School Official and an Alternate Responsible Officer. You will manage a portfolio of student immigration-related requests, and advise students on related matters. Your duties will also include supporting data integrity projects and analyzing and following up on batch errors in Sunapsis, an international case management software.

The International Student Coordinator also supports the J Exchange Visitor Program by managing the initial DS-2019 issuance for J1 student interns and providing interns and departments with related advice. The Coordinator plays an active role in new student orientation programs, and provides planning and implementation support for programs that enhance the integration of international students into the campus community.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of directly related experience.

Excellent spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with non-native English speakers. Demonstrated intercultural skills and firsthand experience in a multicultural setting. Excellent organizational ability, detail orientation and customer orientation, and strong computer skills. Ability to handle interruptions and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

US citizenship or lawful permanent residency required, as mandated by federal [SEVP] regulations.

Employment in this position will be contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and any other information required by federal and stat law and University at Buffalo policies, including the completion of a criminal history check.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an international student services office in the U.S. Demonstrated knowledge of F-1 or J-1 immigration regulations.
