School Administration Consultant – Parental School Choice (Voucher) Programs

The school administration consultant works under the direction of the Director of the School Management Services Team. The primary function for this position is to provide consultation and administration of the Private School Choice Programs (PSCP), which includes the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program, the Racine Parental Choice Program, and the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program. The position provides consultation to private school administrators and staff as they implement and participate in the PSCP; ensures the accuracy of state aid payments; and assists private schools, parents, and the general public regarding the requirements of the PSCP. This position also provides consultation and administration of the Wisconsin charter school program in accordance with section 118.40, Wis. Stats., and the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP) under 115.7915, Wis. Stats. The school administration consultant will be required to accurately interpret legislation and administrative rules; apply strong organizational skills; analyze and synthesize large amounts of data and information; and provide excellent customer service to school staff, parents, and auditors.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., without DPI sponsorship). The Department of Public Instruction does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
Qualifications:   
A minimally qualified applicant must have experience:

• Creating or managing a database utilizing Excel, Access, or similar;
• Analyzing complex reports such as student enrollment reports, legislative reports, financial audits, internal control reports, financial statements, etc;
• Providing consultation on state or federal laws/rules/requirements to government officials, school staff, parents, or the public;
• Developing and giving presentations in-person or online.

A highly qualified candidate will have experience developing, using, or maintaining Excel forms and survey tools such as Vovici or Verint; providing consultation on Wisconsin school finance laws, school aids, or methods of funding parental school choice programs (e.g., charter schools, vouchers, public school enrollment, etc.); and/or providing consultation on parental school choice laws/rules/requirements.
