Job Title: Arts and Crafts Instructors (Musical Theater, Set Painting, Backstage, Theater,

Guitar, Glass Fusion, Lino Painting, Painting, Crochet, Needlepoint, Ceramics, Fashion Design,

Woodworking, Silversmith and Metals, Photography, or Dance: Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip

Hop and Ballet).

Location: Camp Fernwood, Poland, Maine

Position Type: Seasonal (Summer) June 19th, 2026 to August 12th, 2026 (8 weeks).

Overview:

Camp Fernwood is seeking creative and enthusiastic Arts and Crafts Instructors to lead

engaging and innovative art programs for campers. The ideal candidate will inspire campers to

explore their artistic talents while fostering a supportive and fun environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Curriculum: Create and execute a diverse range of arts and crafts

projects that cater to various age groups and skill levels.

Instruct and Supervise: Teach art techniques and skills in a hands-on manner, providing

guidance and support to campers during projects.

Foster Creativity: Encourage campers to express themselves through art, helping them

build confidence in their creative abilities.

Maintain Supplies: Manage art supplies and materials, ensuring that the workspace is

organized and safe for all campers.

Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with other instructors and camp staff to integrate art

activities into the broader camp program and schedule.

Organize Exhibitions: Plan and execute art showcases or exhibitions to celebrate campers'

creations, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and supportive environment, following all safety protocols

and guidelines.

Qualifications:

Experience in Arts and Crafts: Previous experience teaching or leading arts and crafts

activities, preferably in a camp or educational setting.

Creativity and Passion: A strong passion for the arts and a desire to inspire creativity in

others.

Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with campers, parents,

and staff, fostering positive relationships.

Background Check: Must pass a background check and adhere to camp policies and

procedures.
