Job Title: Data Analyst / Data Analytics Specialist

Location: Richmond VA [Onsite / Hybrid / Remote]
Employment Type: Full-time- Contract 
Experience Level: 2–6 years 

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong experience in SQL, Python, and reporting/BI tools to analyze data, generate insights, and support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to translate data into meaningful reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data
  • Use Python (Pandas, NumPy, etc.) for data analysis, automation, and modeling
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports using reporting/BI tools
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reports
  • Partner with business teams to understand reporting and analytics requirements
  • Present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and data-driven projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL (joins, subqueries, CTEs, performance tuning)
  • Experience using Python for data analysis and data manipulation
  • Proficiency in at least one reporting/BI tool, such as:
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
    • Looker
    • Qlik
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure, AWS)
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Experience with version control tools (Git)
  • Familiarity with business domains such as Finance, HR, Sales, or Operations

Nice to Have

  • Experience with statistical analysis or predictive modeling
  • Exposure to APIs and data integration
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts
