Climbing and Mountain Biking Instructor
We are seeking Cimbing and Mountain Biking Instructors!
Our Outdoor Adventure Instructors introduce our campers to the fun and challenge that a high and low ropes course provide. If you love climbing but don't have experience teaching, don't worry! We provide a training course during staff orientation that will bring you up to date on your certifications and teach you how to teach.
Our facilities include a 28’ three-sided climbing wall, a “leap of faith,” “flying squirrel” and zipline plus numerous low ropes activities. While your primary responsibility will be the “ropes” department, our other outdoor adventure activities include biking, campcraft, canoeing/kayaking as well as both day and overnight trips.
Each age group has age appropriate day and overnight camping trips, ranging from two nights on Tumbledown Mountain to eight nights on the Allagash River. Many of our campers come from urban and suburban areas, and exposure to the range of natural wonders Maine has to offer is an important part of our program. We pride ourselves on teaching our campers to love the outdoors as much as we do.
Camp Androscoggin is a boys residential camp in central Maine. Position dates are June 19th to August 14th, 2026. The positions are paid, and travel, room, and board are all included.
Androscoggin is the summer home for 250 boys between ages 8 and 15 and 100 staff. For over a century, campers and counselors have been playing sports, participating in a host of individual activities, forming life-long friendships, and sharing summers to remember on our 120-acre lakeside campus.
Days are divided between bunk responsibilities and working with campers in your activity area. The schedules are built so counselors have a chance to work with kids in other areas as well. Our staff goes on day and overnight trips with their campers. Staff can use the camp facilities during time off.
