Title: TRUE Aquapioneer Engagement Specialist
Summer 2026
Job Description: The TRUE Aquapioneer Engagement Specialist will help TRUE Skool to archive environmental projects from over the last 8 years and compile data including partners, resources and artist engagement. This information will be a prelude to the current environmental justice network and initiatives and help us to plan the next phase of our environmental efforts including public art, workshops, project-based education and social media communications.
They will take a deep dive into Environmental Justice and learn about an ecosystem of EJ efforts in Milwaukee through the Environmental Justice Collaborative.
This position will require communication with youth, artists and partners. They will also help to maintain our in-house aquaponics system. The best candidate for the position will be a creative thinker who is passionate about the environment, is a hands-on team member, enjoys research and is organized. Aquaponics experience is not required, however, if not, they will learn the
basics to maintaining the system. Will report directly to the Co-Executive Directors.

This internship is part of the Lawrence University Social & Environmental Justice Cohort, which provides an opportunity for Lawrentians to explore social and environmental justice impact careers, gain professional experience, and develop as leaders. Students complete a full-time summer 2026 internship with an identified social and/or environmental justice impact organization in Milwaukee or Appleton, while participating in ongoing reflection with fellow students, Professor Jason Brozek, the Career Center, community leaders and alumni. Students may apply for as many positions as they are qualified for and interested in. Each student in the SEJ program will receive a $5k stipend to help cover housing and transportation costs and living expenses.
