Junior Automation AI Product Engineer
Role Overview
The Junior Automation / AI Product Engineer will contribute to building automation workflows, backend services, and AI-powered features that sit inside client-facing applications and internal tools, using AI-accelerated software development processes and tools.
This role is ideal for a Computer Science or Mathematics graduate who enjoys full-stack modern web development, working with APIs and data, and experimenting with agentic AI patterns within a structured engineering framework.
What you’ll do
- Implement and maintain backend services in Python, often deployed as Azure Functions or Container Apps, following our layered, separation-of-concerns approach for modular, testable code.
- Help design and build automation workflows that connect cloud data stores, AI services, and business applications to eliminate manual steps and bottlenecks.
- Integrate LLM-based capabilities (OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, retrieval-augmented generation, agent orchestration) into well-defined “stations” in a broader digital assembly line.
- Collaborate with product owners and architects to understand requirements and refine them into clear technical tasks with measurable outcomes and observability criteria.
- Work with TypeScript/React frontends (often bootstrapped with lovable.dev) to expose AI and automation features through intuitive, performant user interfaces.
- Write integration and unit tests, instrument services with structured logging and metrics, and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Use Monday.com and Git-based workflows to manage work items, track progress, and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teammates.
